Bank Statement

Here is the latest statement from Banco Popular.
The amount debited by the Courts of 663 . 55 is to a Spanish owner who appealed and has been given his money back plus costs. Again that amount includes charges for water and electricity which he has used and the rest of us have paid for.

On a brighter note a couple of debtors have paid some money into the account, probably in the hope of confusing and stopping the Court cases against them for debt. The case against one of them will certainly continue, as the amount paid in is a small fraction of what is owed to the Community.

I read your blog the other day and it said something like you didn't include Pat's comments because you disagreed with them. MMMMM Not sure that I understand the thinking over this. If this Blog is supposed to be the official Mi Sol website, I would have thought there was a duty to reflect all opinions. God knows we all disagree from time to time, but is it not healthy to encourage a forum of opinion. I am not sure that I agree with the practice of muting opinion just because it happens to differ from yours.

I know that I have disagreed with issues in the past. Surely then by representing both arguments, the community as a whole can form a more informed opinion over choices. I think it is called the Democratic process.

What is the opinion of the committee over the future of the bar. I happen to believe that Maggie and Bob have worked hard. Maybe they possibly haven't pleased everyone. Who can on Mi Sol ? But I for one am willing to acknowledge that they have been the hardest working tenants that I have ever experienced in my time at Mi Sol. If that counts for anything, I hope that the mood of the community is to continue to lend their support to them.

Or. On the other hand does the community really give a stuff for the well being of those attempting to make a go of the bar. The Community own the bar. Maybe there are those among us who just want to extract as much rent and service from a long line of hopefuls, who sink their dreams and life savings into the bar, and then move on when they inevitably fail and loose everything. Quesada Social Club has been existing in that way ever since I arrived in Spain, and every tenant spent money on improving the venue for the landlord to rent to the next hopeful suckers, at a higher rent. Do we want adopt such ethics?

Bob is absolutely right when he says that the only way for this bar to make money is with hard graft. So the question the community needs to ask. "Do we want to exploit hopeful potential Tenants and increase revenue to the community when they ultimately fail, Or do we want a bar service that enjoys a consistency with a Tenant who in exchange for some good honest hard graft, is rewarded with it being worth his while ?"

I don't want to see the rug pulled from beneath Bob and Maggie. I think their hard work and achievements should be respected by the community. I have witnessed a string of disastrous tenants and I say "Viva la Difference!"

I also want to comment on your mention regarding Anomonus contributions. I don't know whether it was a connection issue, but on the occasion I made a comment, I found the only way it would work was by selecting Anomonus! I signed it after so it was known to be me, but I did experience difficulty, not being too familiar with the way the site worked and on a timed connection.

Hope you are all well.
Take care all Simon John x
